North Hills School District students are invited to join Ross Elementary School teacher Lisa Varecka Mindfulness Group to participate in an hour-long meditation session offered twice a week via Zoom.
Sessions will incorporate various forms of meditation including gratitude, guided, stillness, moving and stretching.
Sessions begin Tuesday, Feb. 23 and are open to students of all ages.
Tuesdays 7-8 p.m.
Wednesdays 5-6 p.m.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a major effect on our lives. Many of us are facing challenges that can be stressful, overwhelming and cause strong emotions. There is a growing body of research to suggest that meditation can be a powerful tool to combat stress and anxiety, improve attention and help regulate emotions. It has been shown to calm the central nervous system and improve oxygenation, often with instant benefit.
