Mental Health Forums

Two mental health forums for parents and guardians were held in early January 2021. They can be rewatched below.

For Elementary Students (Grades K-5)

For Secondary Students (Grades 6-12)

Stand Together - Stop the Stigma

Hosted by the North Hills High School Stand Together Club in conjunction with our high school counseling office, this event aims to increase education and awareness surrounding mental health and substance use disorders while promoting social inclusion.

Promoting Mental Health, Communication and Resiliency

Hosted by NHSD and Anchorpoint Counseling Ministry, the informational webinar below focuses on positive mental health and developing resilience and optimism among our students.

Counseling Groups

High School Grief Group

Grief is a complicated mixture of many feelings. Since the death of a loved one is the first chapter in a lifetime of living without that person, grief is a lifelong process of coming to terms with this major loss.

Peer support groups are a helpful way to assist grieving children and adolescents during this complex process.

Peer support group goals include providing a safe environment for grieving students to express their grief, to help students identify others in their school who they can turn to if needed, and to provide peer support, not counseling or therapy.

All interested students are required to obtain parent/guardian consent and sign the Group Confidentiality & Exceptions Pledge.

To sign up or for additional information, contact Mrs. Wrabley at [email protected].

Meets Mondays March 15-April 26 at the high school from 2:10 p.m. to 2:50 p.m.

Join North Hills High School counselor Mrs. Liz Dove and assistant principal Ms. Hanna Mincemoyer as we build confidence together through light exercise and conversation! The intention of this group is to create a safe space where we can move our bodies, practice self-care, and learn about healthy habits of mind.

We will start each session with simple exercises and end with a processing session focused on self-esteem, overcoming challenges, and self-confidence. This group is free of charge and open to all North Hills High School students.

Sign up here. Contact Mrs. Dove at [email protected] with questions.
