Summer Courses and Learning Opportunities

North Hills School District offers several differentiated learning opportunities during the summer months to meet the diverse learning needs of students.

Opportunities include summer math and literacy for elementary age students (grades K-6) and credit recovery and summer enrichment for secondary students (grades 7-12).

Additional information, including courses offered and registration links, will be available in May.

Elementary Summer Reading and Math Program

These programs are designed for elementary students who, based on performance data, would benefit from additional instruction before progressing to the next grade.

Students Entering Grades 1-6

  • When: Monday-Thursday, July 10-August 3, 2023
  • Location: Highcliff Elementary
  • Instructional Model: In-person
  • Eligibility: Determined by student performance data, students who qualify will receive an invitation letter
  • Fee: No cost

Students Entering Grade 7

  • When: Monday-Thursday, June 12-22, 2023
  • Location: North Hills Midddle School
  • Instructional Model: In-person
  • Eligibility: Determined by student performance data, students who qualify will receive an invitation letter
  • Fee: No cost

Credit Recovery - Grades 7-12

The credit recovery program is designed for students that have failed one or more of their core courses (English, Math, Science and Social Studies) during the previous school year. Successful completion of the credit recovery course will allow the failing transcript grade to be adjusted.

  • When: June 14 - July 26, 2023
  • Instructional Model: Asynchronous
  • Eligibility: Grades 7-12
  • Fee: $200

Summer Enrichment - Grades 9-10

The summer enrichment program is designed for high school students that would like to alleviate scheduling conflicts in the upcoming school year. Students may take Health or Physical Education courses during the summer for transcript credit.

  • When: June 14 - July 26, 2023 
  • Instructional Model: Asynchronous
  • Eligibility: Grades 9-11
  • Fee: $225
