North Hills High School orientation sessions will be held on Thursday, Aug. 10 at 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. and on Monday, Aug. 14 at 1 p.m. Students entering ninth grade or who are new to the district and their families should attend one of the sessions.
Each session will begin with a 30-minute presentation in the auditorium. The presentation, from counselors and administrators, will highlight important aspects of the student handbook, review some keys to success. Studnets will also learn how to read their schedule.
The high school building then will be open to all students for self-guided tours. Students are invited to explore the building with a family member, find their classrooms, and practice opening their lockers.
Students are encouraged to “walk their schedule” so they are more comfortable moving from one room to the next on the first day of school. They should also find and practice opening their locker. Student Ambassadors will be located throughout the building during tour hours to assist and answer questions.
Students and families can participate in the self-guided tour without attending the presentation if they choose to do so.
Schedules will be released via PowerSchool in mid-August.
