Kaitlin HochKaitlin Hoch has been named the North Hills School District’s new interim elementary assistant principal. Ms. Hoch will work at West View Elementary School during the 2023-24 school year while the building is under construction.

Ms. Hoch joined NHSD in 2017 as a first grade teacher at Ross Elementary School. She moved to McIntyre Elementary School the following year as a fourth grade teacher, a position she held for five years through last school year.

Additionally, she served as McIntyre’s Safety Sponsor from 2018 through 2023 and McIntyre’s Head Teacher from 2020 through 2023.

“Kaitlin will be an invaluable asset and a tremendous help to Mr. Simpson, his staff and West View’s students during the renovation project,” Superintendent Dr. Patrick J. Mannarino said in announcing her hiring at the NHSD Board of Education’s August 3 committee meeting. “We are thrilled she is able to join the team this week as we prepare for our students' return for the new school year on Aug. 23."

Ms. Hoch is a graduate of Duquesne University with a bachelor’s in elementary education (pre-K-4) and a master's in school administration (K-12).

She currently resides in Cranberry Township with her dog Ace. In her free time, she enjoys exercising and spending time with her family including her new niece.

Ms. Hoch’s position is not permanent but it will allow the administration and school board to evaluate the need for elementary assistant principals across the district.

NHSD previously had one assistant elementary school principal who spent time at all four elementary schools but the position was eliminated due to budgetary restraints as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
