Katharine McGoey, Maggie Mollenauer named Trib Total Media's Outstanding Young Citizens for 2024

Katharine and MaggieCongratulations to North Hills High School seniors Katharine McGoey and Maggie Mollenauer who were named among Trib Total Media's Outstanding Young Citizens for 2024.

After graduation, Katharine will attend University of North Carolina Wilmington where she plans to study elementary education and history. 

She says, “As a future teacher, I want to make a positive impact on the lives of my students by supporting them and building a genuine love of learning and interest in the unknown that I know will take my students far academically and personally.”

Maggie will attend Grove City College with plans to study business with a focus on human capital management.

She says, “Service to others has been a natural pillar for me as a Girl Scout, a tutor, a coach, and a confidant. My desire to minister to and support others, coupled with my optimism, makes [my career choice] a perfect fit. This degree will fulfill career aspirations and also answer a vocational calling to serve others by recognizing potential.”

For more than 30 years, Trib Total Media has recognized the achievements of Pittsburgh area high school students with the Outstanding Young Citizen Award. Awardees are high school juniors and seniors who show exemplary character and leadership, go above and beyond within their community and excel in the classroom. Katharine was also named among Trib Total Media's Outstanding Young Citizens in 2023.
