Graphing calculatorPITTSBURGH -- All middle school students entering Algebra I in 2019-20 will be given a Texas Instruments TI-83 Plus graphing calculator at the start of the school year. Families do not need to purchase a graphing calculator. The calculator will belong to your child, and he/she should plan to use it as they continue their education in the North Hills School District.

All other middle school students will need a standard scientific calculator. Scientific calculators, such as the Texas Instruments TI-30Xa, are sold at major retailers for approximately $10. These calculators will not be provided by the district, and families should purchase one before the start of the school year.

If you do not know if your child will be in Algebra I in 2019-20, course assignments will be released in the comings weeks. Just know that you do not need to purchase a more expensive graphing calculator.
