Online Academy at North Hills

Online Academy at North Hills

The Online Academy at North Hills is a fully online program offering a robust and rigorous curriculum for K-12 students. The program features core course offerings in English, math, science and social studies and some electives.

For the 2020-21 school year, the Online Academy is the only virtual option should the district begin the school year with an in-person instructional model (Traditional, Blended or Hybrid).

Any student can choose to enroll in the Online Academy at North Hills, but enrollment for the 2020-21 school year should be submitted by August 10. Transition out of the Academy can only occur after nine weeks in the program. Fill out this form to enroll. Please note: All families must submit one enrollment form per student regardless of whether you submitted a previous form on this website.

Families who have already enrolled in the Online Academy can withdraw students up until the first day of school, August 25. Fill out the form here to withdraw.

Frequently asked questions about the Online Academy can be found here.

Virtual question and answer sessions were also held on July 20 and July 21. The sessions were recorded and links to watch each on can be found below:

About the Online Academy

Any student can choose to enroll in the Online Academy at North Hills and enrollment can be full-time or part-time.

Online Academy students who reside in the North Hills School District enjoy access to the same resources as traditional students. They may attend athletic and social events, compete in athletics, and participate in the more than 50 clubs and activities offered at the middle and high schools.

Online Academy students graduate from North Hills as traditional students, participate in commencement and receive a North Hills School District diploma. Online Academy students must meet the same graduation requirements as students who attend the district’s brick-and-mortar schools. Complete graduation requirements can be found in the high school student handbook.

Students interested in enrolling in the Online Academy at North Hills should schedule an appointment with their school counselorto determine if online learning is right for you. Questions can also be directed to Assistant Superintendent Dr. Beth Williams or Jill Brooks, the district's K-12 online curriculum leader.
