North Hills High School senior Keira Knouff placed fourth in an entrepreneurship competition that challenges students to come up with a business idea for a chance to win scholarships and other monetary prizes.

Keira and her peers in Michael Palano’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship classes participated in the Dream-Learn-Pitch competition in which entrants are tasked with submitting a video “pitch” about their business idea.

Ideas are rigorously reviewed and finalists chosen to attend the final round in person.

Kiera’s pitch qualified for the finals, held at Happy Valley Launchbox on the campus of Penn State University on April 23.

Her business, OneCheck, placed fourth out of 300 total pitches this year. Keira is a competitive rock climber and OneCheck offers belay certifications for rock climbing.

For her fourth place finish she won $250!

Keira is also a licensed cosmetologist and aspires to be a successful entrepreneur.

Dream-Learn-Pitch is administered through Brighter Financial Futures, a nonprofit organization passionate about teaching young people solid financial management and entrepreneurial skills to elevate their standard of living, quality of life and professional success.
