School Dismissal Manager

School Dismissal Manager

School Dismissal Manager (SDM) allows parents to make changes to a student’s attendance status through a web browser or iOS or Android app, making it no longer necessary to call or send notes and emails to the school. The school is alerted automatically.

Elementary student absences, late arrivals, early dismissals and dismissal changes should be reported through SDM and SDM should be used in place of each elementary school's attendance/child check line. At this time, SDM is for elementary students only. We hope to implement SDM at the North Hills High School and North Hills Middle School in the spring of 2024.

To log in and set up your account

  • Login following the instructions sent via email. Emails on file with the district in PowerSchool will automatically receive the instruction email at designated times as communicated. (Be sure to check your spam and junk folders.)
  • You will see that your child’s “default” dismissal has been populated. This is your child’s district-assigned dismissal plan and is either a walker or a bus rider, in which case the student’s bus number is listed. Please note: Directions for adjusting your child’s dismissal plan to be a car-rider, either for one day or everyday, and to have an early dismissal are provided below.

Absences

Student absences should be reported using the ABSENT feature in School Dismissal Manager. Select the day on the calendar for which your child will be absent, then select Add Exception and choose Absent from the dropdown options, filling out the necessary information. Please note that SDM does not determine if absences are excused or unexcused and you must still provide the school office with a doctor’s note when required and as specified in our school's policies.

Late Arrivals

Late arrivals should be reported using the LATE ARRIVAL feature in School Dismissal Manager. Select the day on the calendar for which your child will be arriving late, then select Add Late Arrival, fill out the Reason and click Submit. Please note that you must still come into the office to sign your child in when they arrive at school where required by school policies.

Early Dismissals

Early dismissal exceptions can be made in advance or on the current day as long as it is before 11 a.m. You must call the school directly if you need an early dismissal for the current day after 11 a.m.

  • Select the day on the calendar for which your child will be leaving early
  • Select “Add Exception”

Dismissal Changes

Dismissal changes at normal dismissal time can be made in advance or on the current day as long as it is before 2 p.m. You must call the school directly if you need to make a dismissal change for the current day after 2 p.m.
