The North Hills School District has named Meghan Watelet assistant principal of North Hills High School.

Ms. Watelet comes to North Hills from Chartiers Valley High School where she has served as assistant principal since 2020.

During her time at Chartiers Valley, Ms. Watelet also supervised student clubs and activities, and served as coordinator for several schoolwide programs including the school's Student Assistance Program (SAP), No Place for Hate and positive behavior support system.

Ms. Watelet began her career as an English learning support teacher at first Franklin Regional Middle School and later Knoch High School. She then served as an English teacher at Canon-McMillan High School where she also coached multiple sports, and sponsored yearbook and student council.

Prior to transferring to Chartiers Valley, Ms. Watelet was a school counselor in the Butler Area School District where she also facilitated schoolwide initiatives to advocate on behalf of the students and families of Butler County.

"We are excited to welcome Meghan who brings valuable experience to our high school and our district having served as both a special and general education teacher as well as school counselor,” Superintendent Dr. Patrick J. Mannarino said. “Her added leadership with schoolwide programs and initiatives and active involvement with student clubs and organizations makes her the ideal choice to join our administration team."

Ms. Watelet received her undergraduate degree in English, Secondary Education (7-12) and Special Education (7-12) from Washington & Jefferson College, her Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Duquesne University and Principal’s Certification from the University of Pittsburgh.

Ms. Watelet is originally from Boston, Massachusetts. She currently lives in McCandless with her husband Zach, dog Brady, and two cats Fitzgerald and Whitman.

She replaces Hanna Mincemoyer, who has served as one of two assistant principals at North Hills High School since 2019.

Ms. Watelet will start at the high school in mid-September.
