NHSD earns Communications Awards for social media, video
North Hills School District and Director of Communications Heather Pelat recently earned two Excellence in Communications Awards from PenSPRA, the Pennsylvania School Public Relations Association.  Each year, PenSPRA provides an opportunity for school district communication professionals to be recognized in the annual Excellence in Education Communications Contest.

NHSD received the 2021 Award of Excellence in Social Media for the district's social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram). This is the competition's top honor which was awarded to just three districts across the state. 

The district's communications efforts were also recognized with the 2021 Award of Merit in Video for the 2020-21 year in review video compiled by Ms. Pelat titled "2020-21 In Review: We Can Accomplish Anything if We Do it Together."

Over 200 entries were submitted from across the state by communications leaders in school districts.

Each year, PensSPRA provides an opportunity for school district communication professionals to be recognized in the annual Excellence in Education Communications Contest.

Entries are accepted in a number of categories including Crisis Management, Graphic Design, Photography, Publications, Social Media, Special Purpose Projects, Video, Website & Apps and Writing, to reflect the scope of work undertaken by communications professionals.

Awards of Excellence are given to the top entries in each category, followed by Awards of Honor and Awards of Merit.
