North Hills unveils new tennis courts at high school

Friends, family and fans of North Hills girls’ tennis gathered to celebrate the newly renovated tennis facility at North Hills High School on Tuesday, Aug. 24.

Guests included members of central and high school administration, athletic department, board of education and community.

All 26 members of the JV and varsity teams shared in the excitement as varsity played host to Highlands in a scrimmage match on the new courts.

Match highlights included Ellie Kim (Fr.) in a strong showing in her debut at 1st singles, Gabby Thinnes (Sr.) with a dominant display at 3rd singles, and duo Veronica Sciulli (Sr.) and Addie Seigworth (Fr.) with a strong appearance at 1st doubles.

“We would like to thank Dr. Mannarino and the administrative staff, the North Hills school board, the athletic department, facilities and maintenance department, and the always supportive North Hills community,” said girls varsity tennis head coach Amy Myers.

The $549,000 project replaced the previous courts, which were built in 1998 and in desperate need of repair.

Come and see the new courts for yourself at the team’s first section match on Monday, Aug. 29 at 3:30 p.m. vs. Butler.
