NHSD participating in Out of the Darkness Suicide Walk on April 17

PITTSBURGH -- The North Hills School District is joining the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in its Out of the Darkness Suicide Walk on Saturday, April 17.

Held nationwide, Out of the Darkness Walks aim to raise awareness and funds that allow AFSP to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy and support survivors of suicide loss.

This year’s walk will begin with a virtual opening ceremony at 10 a.m. You can walk anywhere; in your neighborhood or a local park.

Register online and choose “Join our team."

Donations are also being accepted. Choose “Donate Now” or select "Roster” to find a team member to donate to. Money raised by each participant will go toward NHSD’s total team goal of $5,000.

All donations are 100 percent tax deductible and will help bring AFSP one step closer to achieving their bold goal to reduce the suicide rate 20 percent by 2025.

Thank you for your support!
