High School Students Inducted into Société Honoraire de Français
French National Honor Society InductionsNorth Hills High School’s chapter of the Société Honoraire de Français (the French National Honor Society) inducted 23 returning senior members and 47 new members this school year.

First-year inductees were Faizah Ahmad,  Lonna Anderson, Rachel Blakeley, Juliet California, Payton Carroll, Noah  Chaffin, Kenley Gardner, Madeline Gray, Emma Hampson, Trevor Hartman, Anna Hoang, Emily  Hronec, Jordyn Hronec, Danielle Iuzzolino, Eric Jazbinsek, Brooke Johnston, Marissa Karpinski, Phoebe Keenan,  Addison Kelble, Charlie Knox, Megan Krull, Madison Love, Allison  Lukac, Paige Lyden, Savannah MacAllister, Darby Matvey, Hannah McCreary, Noëlle Mertz-Bruce, Vincent Melchiorre, Liam Mullen, Amelia Natale, Sean Nolan, Vanessa Palmieri, Kelly Pearson, Katelyn Ross,  Leslie Rozanski, Maura Ruprecht, Andrew Sauls, Aidan Schneider, Arielle Simmons,  Anna  Sluis-Cremer, Kelsey Sponcer, Shalyn Szymczak, Olivia Williams, Courtney Withers, Madina Yoldosheva and Maisie Young

Students are selected for membership based on their academic success in French courses and across the curriculum, their community service, and their commitment to making cultural connections. Students who maintain their membership throughout their senior year will wear honor cords at graduation. 

Throughout this year, students have participated in the AFS International Dinner, attended a Holocaust film and discussion sponsored by Teen Screen of Film Pittsburgh, "Brundibar Revisited and raised funds for the Cali Orphanage in Haiti as a service project by selling bracelets saying "Hope for Haiti."
