2 North Hills High School teachers positive for COVID-19

PITTSBURGH -- Two additional North Hills High School teachers have tested positive for COVID-19. The teachers were last in school on Friday, Oct. 30. While we are announcing these cases together, the cases are not connected.

After reviewing the details of each case, the Allegheny County Health Department says it is safe for the high school to return to Hybrid on Monday, Nov. 9, as scheduled. The high school was temporarily closed Nov. 4-6 and students were fully remote.

As Dr. Mannarino explained during Thursday’s school board meeting and in his video update earlier this week, the majority of the cases among NHSD students and staff members are not being contracted in our schools and this holds true today. As a result, no action by the district is necessary. Our health and safety plan is solid, Hybrid is working and our schools are safe for our students and staff.

We know this is a difficult time. Please remember that Hybrid students can forgo their in-person school days and join their classes remotely at any time for any reason.
