North Hills High School teacher positive for COVID-19

PITTSBURGH -- A North Hills High School teacher is the district’s latest COVID-19 case. The teacher was last in school on Tuesday, Nov. 10.

The Allegheny County Health Department (ACHD) has reviewed the details of the case and does not believe any students or staff who came in contact with this teacher this week were in close contact as defined by the CDC and is at-risk of contracting the virus.

In addition, the teacher followed all health and safety protocols while in the building and was, like all students and staff, wearing a mask and following social distancing guidelines at all times. As a result, no additional action by the district is necessary.

We know this is a difficult time for everyone, especially as cases climb in Allegheny County and across the state. Please know we continue to follow the guidance of the county’s most knowledgeable health officials at the ACHD.

Our health and safety plan continues to ensure COVID-19 is not spreading in our schools in the Hybrid operational model.
