Unlocking your NHSD iPad: What you need to know

PITTSBURGH -- When students are issued district iPads this week they will come with a passcode. The passcode is some variation of the student’s lunch code but the variation is dependent on the student's school.

For middle and high school students:
If lunch code is:

  • Four Digits: 4-digit lunch code = 4-digit passcode
  • Five Digits: 0 followed by 5-digit lunch code = 6-digit passcode
  • Six Digits: 6-digit lunch code = 6-digit passcode

Each student’s passcode is also written on the iPad's box.

For Highcliff Elementary students:
If lunch code is:

  • Four Digits: 4-digit lunch code = 4-digit passcode
  • Five Digits: 5-digit lunch code followed by a 0 = 6-digit passcode
  • Six Digits: 6-digit lunch code = 6-digit passcode

Each student’s passcode is also written on the iPad's box.

For McIntyre and Ross Elementary students:
If lunch code is:

  • Four Digits: 4-digit lunch code = 4-digit passcode
  • Five Digits: 0 followed by 5-digit lunch code = 6-digit passcode
  • Six Digits: 6-digit lunch code = 6-digit passcode

For West View Elementary students:
If lunch code is:

  • Four Digits: Two 0s followed by 4-digit lunch code = 6-digit lunch code
  • Five Digits: One 0 followed by 5-digit lunch code = 6-digit lunch code
  • Six Digits: 6-digit lunch code = 6-digit passcode

As a reminder, students who did not pick up their iPad via the drive-through at the middle school on Monday, Aug. 24, will receive their device during their in-person school day this week Aug. 25-28.

All students must parents/guardians must fill out the Project Connect form and purchase or waive iPad insurance as detailed here prior to receiving the device.

iPad cases are delayed from the manufacturer. Your student's iPad will not have a case so please plan accordingly. Learn more here.
