PITTSBURGH -- The North Hills School District was notified by the Allegheny County Health Department late this afternoon, Saturday, Aug. 29, that a student in attendance at the North Hills High School on Thursday, Aug. 27, has a presumed positive case of COVID-19.

The North Hills School District and the Allegheny County Health Department are taking all recommended steps to ensure the health and safety of our students and staff.

Contract tracing will be handled by the county health department. Anyone who was in close contact with the student without a mask on and for longer than 15 minutes will be contacted directly by the health department.

Students were in all of our schools for four days this week, Tuesday, Aug. 25, through Friday, Aug. 28, at 25 percent capacity each day. During this time, all aspects of the district’s health and safety plan were followed at all times. Students begin full virtual instruction on Monday as scheduled.

Anyone who experiences any of the signs and symptoms of COVID-19 is urged to contact their primary care physician immediately.

The health and safety of our students and staff is paramount. This is a difficult time for us all and we thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to navigate through this pandemic.
