At the Feb. 21 Board of Education Work Session and
Legislative Meeting, NHSD Board of Education members approved a resolution establishing
North Hills Middle School as a Grade 6-8 building starting in the 2020-21
school year.
Starting in the 2020-21 school year, all sixth-grade students will
attend classes at North Hills Middle School. We are aware that this is a vital
transition and important time for our students, and we will communicate plans,
activities and events designed to help our students and their families with
this transition throughout the next school year.
We encourage our families to visit the .Elementary Student Population Solutions website
This decision follows an intense evaluation by district administration of numerous options to address the district’s enrollment growth that is projected through 2025. We believe that making North Hills Middle School a Grade 6-8 building is the best option to provide an academically sound and fiscally responsible long-term solution for our community.
A video of last night’s meeting, various presentations and reports on this decision have been posted on the Elementary Student Population Solutions website.
