North Hills to host 59th annual Marching Band Festival September 14
PITTSBURGH -- The 59th annual North Hills Marching Band Festival will be held on Saturday, September 14 at Martorelli Stadium.
A total of 10 local high school marching bands are scheduled to perform including our own Band of Pride, Tradition and Excellence.
Attendees will also hear the sounds of bands from Avonworth, Bethel Park, Chartiers Valley, Ft. Cherry, Ft. LeBoeuf, Northgate, Sto-Rox, South Fayette and South Park high schools.
North Hills’ performances will feature “Renegade,” arranged specifically for this year’s band and part of the pregame show, and crowd-pleasing, throwback favorites from Woodstock including “All Along the Watchtower,” “Pinball Wizard,” and “With a Little Help From My Friends.” The band’s march features music by John Williams.
The festival, sponsored by the North Hills Instrumental Parents’ Association, gets underway at 7 p.m. Admission is $8 and $5 for students and seniors. Children age 5 and under are free.
Refreshments and other items will be available for purchase.
Additional parking is available at the Park & Ride lot located just north of the Perrysville Avenue exit of I-279.
In the event of rain, the festival will be moved to the North Hills Middle School gymnasium located at 55 Rochester Road in Ross Township.
