North Hills adds interactive displays to elementary classrooms
Teaching using interactive display in classroom

PITTSBURGH -- The North Hills School District’s four elementary schools are now equipped with interactive touchscreen displays.

Approximately 200 Promethean ActivPanel Nickel displays were installed over the summer before the start of the 2019-20 school year in every elementary school classroom, computer lab and library, replacing older projectors and other presentation devices.

Designed exclusively for educators, the internet-ready displays put a wealth resources at a teacher’s fingertips. With a menu that’s easy to access, teachers can move seamlessly between content and resources without disrupting the lesson flow.

The displays also feature multi-device mirroring letting teachers and students collaborate from anywhere in the classroom by wirelessly connecting smartphones, tablets and laptops.

“These interactive displays only enhance the student-teacher experience and this is the direction we’re headed as a district,” said Dr. Patrick J. Mannarino, superintendent for the North Hills School District.

The district is planning to add interactive touchscreen displays to the middle school and high school in the future.
