PITTSBURGH -- The North Hills School District has hired Karlee McBride as its new assistant director of athletics.

A former collegiate athlete who played Division I basketball at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, McBride brings first-hand knowledge of what it takes to be a successful student-athlete to the district.

She graduated from Indiana University in 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Communication and Broadcasting.

“I am excited to have Karlee as a part of the athletic department staff.  Her background as a Division I basketball player and sports marketing degree are invaluable to the daily tasks we perform in our office,” said Director of Athletics Patrick Weber, adding, “Her organizational skills and personality are second to none when it comes to working alongside all of our student-athletes. “

McBride previously worked as a sports analyst for the ACC Network working primarily with the Pittsburgh Panthers.

She also worked for her sister, Kayla McBride, a professional WNBA player, with business, social media and content creation.

“I’m honored for this opportunity,” she said. “I’m excited to work with kids and lean on my experiences as a student-athlete to help them grow both personally and athletically.”

McBride grew up in Erie, Pennsylvania, where she excelled in basketball at Villa Maria Academy.

She currently lives in the North Hills and coaches the Western PA Bruins AAU girls’ basketball team.

Her office is located in the athletics office at North Hills High School.
