North Hills names John Lesjack Assistant High School Principal

PITTSBURGH (May 30, 2019) – The North Hills School District has named John Lesjack Assistant Principal of the North Hills High School effective for the 2019-20 school year.

Mr. Lesjack joins North Hills from the Brookville Area School District where he spent the last three years as assistant principal of the district’s four buildings.

Primarily assigned to the junior/senior high school, Lesjack consistently developed strategies and implemented programs to significantly reduce student disciplinary issues and assist students struggling academically.

Prior to Brookville Area, Lesjack taught world history at Butler Area Intermediate High School.

“I was drawn to North Hills because of their focus on preparing students for a successful future, the world-class reputation and the opportunity to be on the forefront of education,” he said. “I look forward to meeting and working with an outstanding team of educators, students, parents and community members.”

“From the first time I met him his commitment to kids was apparent. He's very approachable and very kind and has the assistance principal experiences we were looking for,” said Dr. Patrick Mannarino, superintendent for the North Hills School District. “We’ve very excited to welcome him to the team.”

Lesjack was born and raised in western Pennsylvania.

He received his Bachelor of Arts in History from Kenyon College in Ohio and later attended University of Pittsburgh where he received his Master of Arts in Teaching.

Following Pitt, he attended Edinboro University where he received his Master of Educational Leadership and K-12 Principal Certification.

Lesjack and his wife live in Butler and are expecting their first child this summer.

In his spare time, Lesjack enjoys running and playing ultimate Frisbee. He’s an avid football fan and season ticket holder for both the Steelers and Pitt Panthers.
