PITTSBURGH (June 3, 2019) -- Registration for online summer courses through the Online Academy @ North Hills is open now.
This summer, the Online Academy is offering 40 courses for students in grades 7 through 12 from across southwestern Pennsylvania. You do not have to live in the North Hills School District to attend the Online Academy.
Credit recovery courses are available in math, English, science, social studies and health for students who were not able to achieve a passing grade during the school year.
There are also several enrichments courses such as physical education, digital photography, teen transitions, driver’s education (theory only) and world language courses including Chinese, German and Japanese. (PDF: Download the 2019 Summer Course Catalog)
All courses are taught by highly qualified high school teachers from partnering school districts and organizations and the curricula is aligned to the Pennsylvania Core Standards, Assessment Anchors and Eligible Content.
Tuition for credit recovery courses is $115 for a three-week, half-credit course and $225 for a six-week, one-credit course. Tuition for eight-week, for-credit courses range from $120 to $399.
Interested students are encouraged to talk with their guidance counselor before applying.
