The Arrowhead releases first issue of 2019-20, just in time for Homecoming
Rebekah Froehlich, The Arrowhead's new Editor-In-Chief

PITTSBURGH – North Hill High School’s student-run newspaper The Arrowhead released its first issue of the 2019-20 school year Friday, just in time for homecoming.

The homecoming issue is the first for new Editor-In-Chief Rebekah Froehlich.

"I am a little biased, but this is the most exciting issue of The Arrowhead I have ever been a part of since I now have the honor of being editor-in-chief,” she said. “Since my freshman year, I have been able to cultivate my skills and learn different techniques from every past editor. Though it was so fun being website editor and layout editor, this is going to be the best year yet.”

As editor-in-chief, Froehlich is able to look at the paper in a completely different light.

“Now I’m sitting on the other side. I can choose what I want from the publication from the pictures in the layout to content to whether or not there should be a colon in the bylines,” she said, adding, “I am also learning even more how much work goes into putting out a school newspaper.”
Still, the hours spent pouring over a computer are worth it when you’re able to hold a piece of paper that you put your heart into and that an entire school community will read.

“The skills I, and every amazing lady I have the pleasure of working with, will carry on throughout college and into our professional lives. The opportunities I have had and will continue to have through Journalism are unmatched. I could not be more grateful,” said Froehlich.

In addition to homecoming related news and insights, the first issue includes a spotlight on new high school Principal Kevin McKiernan, information about the school’s new Stand Together club and an article about building a greener world and reducing your carbon footprint.
