Trunk-or-treat, car cruise to be held in memory of North Hills student Jake Wudarczyk

PITTSBURGH -- North Hills High School Student Council and Hands for Service clubs will hold a trunk-or-treat and car cruise next month in memory of North Hills High School student Jake Wudarczyk.

Jake was just 16 years old and a junior at North Hills when he passed away in December of 2016 following a 20-month battle with brain cancer.

The event will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of the North Hills Middle School and will include:

  • Trick-or-treating
  • Face painting
  • 50/50 and basket raffle
  • Contest for best trunk
  • Car cruise
  • Concession stand

  • Be sure to wear your costume!

The trunk-or-treat and car cruise replaces the Monster Dash 5K that was held every year for the last three years and will benefit the Make-A-Wish and Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh foundations, just as the race has. Raffle items and donations for the concession stand are being collected.

View this signup form for a list of donations.  Donated items should be dropped off at the high school by 3 p.m. on Oct. 25.

Jake, a Make-A-Wish recipient, was able to attend the inaugural Monster Dash just two months before his death. The race was named the Jake Wudarczyk Monster Dash 5k in subsequent years in his honor.

This year, the trunk-or-treat and car cruise are being held in his honor because of Jake’s love of cars.

    Parking

Anyone participating in the car cruise should enter the campus using the main driveway from Rochester Road.

Anyone coming to the trunk-or-treat should park in the high school parking lot and access it via the First Street entrance to campus.
