North Hills Students to Compete at State High School Computer Fair

Five North Hills High School students took home top honors at the 2015 Pennsylvania High School Computer Fair regional competition and have advanced to compete at the state competition.

Seniors Ryan Burek, Jordan Linder and Luke Stotz, earned first place in the Logo Design category. Junior Pierce Chaffin brought home top honors in the Animation category, and sophomore Brian Venturella earned first place in the Programming/Mobile App Design category. These students will compete at the state competition on May 19 at Dickinson College in Carlisle.

Seniors Tori Manfred and Lindsey Wittig were awarded second-place honors in the Graphic Design category, and senior Karen Shwallon, and junior Barbara Mikulla earned second-place honors in the Web Page Design category. Senior Isaiah Sowers was awarded third-place honors in the Graphic Design category.

The regional computer fair was held on March 25 at the Carnegie Science Center. Reuben Clark, James Meininger, and Mike Scarpaci, North Hills High School technology education teachers, sponsored the students. Student projects are available online.
