Classroom Diagnostic Tools (CDT) testing begins at NHMS

Posted Wednesday, September 14, 2022

All students in grades 6, 7 and 8 have begun beginning of the year diagnostic assessments in English and math. The Pennsylvania Classroom Diagnostic Tools (CDT) is designed to provide diagnostic information to guide instruction in order to support intervention and enrichment.

CDT test questions are not selected in advance. Instead, the test engine adjusts during the test to each individual student. If a student answers a question correctly, the difficulty of subsequent questions increases. Because the CDT is a diagnostic tool rather than an ongrade summative test, some of the more challenging questions presented are targeted to standards beyond those assessed in the student's current course or grade level.
