The North HIlls School District has named David Serkoch the district’s new Director of Facilities Services.David joins NHSD from the Sto-Rox School District where he has worked for the last seven years as the district’s sole maintenance technician before being promoted to Director of Buildings, Grounds and Safety when the position was created in early 2022.
“We are extremely fortunate to have found someone with the experience David has,” said Superintendent Dr. Patrick J. Mannarino as he announced his hiring at the April 13 school board meeting. “Being a successful facilities services director requires not only the technical skill and knowledge to effectively run our building systems and maintenance operations, but the ability to manage personnel and resources while planning for districtwide improvements.”
Mr. Serkoch will replace longtime Facilities Services Director Kevin Swindell, who is retiring this summer after 22 years.
Dr. Mannarino said, “I personally would like to thank Kevin for all he has given to the North Hills School District. He and I have worked together on countless projects and major renovations to improve the building and grounds of the North Hills School District. “Kevin always put the appearance of our facilities and the health and safety of the students as his top priority.”
He concluded, “We will miss him greatly but we wish him all the best in his retirement!”
Mr. Serkoch will begin work at the district next month.
