North Hills Middle School Curriculum Night to be held February 7

North Hills Middle School Curriculum Night for parents of students currently in grades 5, 6 and 7 will take place on Wednesday, February 7 from 6 p.m to 8 p.m. Parents and guardians are invited to attend to see and hear about the course offerings for the 2024-25 school year.

Parents will learn about the different curricular offerings at the middle school. Curricular stations will be set up in the Annex and Dungeon gyms with faculty members on hand to answer questions as families browse courses, subject materials and textbooks. Middle school counselors will also be available in the Dungeon gym to answer any additional questions.

A presentation for rising sixth grade parents with Principal LaMont Lyons, Assistant Principal Katie Fanelli, the sixth grade teachers and counselor will take place in the auditorium beginning at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Parents may choose to attend the time that best fits their schedule. Once the presentations conclude, parents may visit the Annex and Dungeon gyms to learn more about the courses.

In February, our seventh and eighth grade counselors will begin visiting classrooms to discuss the scheduling process. Our sixth grade counselor will visit the elementary schools February 12 through February 15 to meet with current fifth grade students about transitioning to middle school.

The 2024-25 NHMS scheduling window will be open from February 9 through February 16. Students can review their course recommendations and selections in PowerSchool at this time.

Once the scheduling window closes, counselors will meet with individual students to review selected courses and academic plans before schedules are built in the spring.
