Four North Hills High School students won first place in the Powering Pittsburgh Steelers STEM competition earlier this month.

The students, all juniors in the high school’s GATE program, Corey Chen, Conor Greer, Luca Korade and Ethan Liang, designed a green energy project involving the installation of solar panels and canopies at Acrisure Stadium and presented it to judges during the championship round of the competition held Nov. 8 at the home of the Steelers.

The group beat out teams from seven other schools to earn first place.
