Tammy Swanson hired as new Confidential Administrative Assistant

Tammy SwansonTammy Swanson has been hired as the North Hills School District’s new Confidential Administrative Assistant replacing Lori Rieger, who is retiring at the end of June. In her new role, Mrs. Swanson will also serve as secretary of the NHSD Board of Education.Mrs. Swanson is currently North Hills High School Principal Kevin McKiernan's secretary, a position she had held since March of 2023.

Prior to North Hills, the majority of Tammy’s career was spent in the Warren County School District in northwestern Pennsylvania where she supported various administrators at the district’s career and technical center and virtual academy. She also worked closely with the district’s counseling, attendance, summer school, homeschooling, and gifted education departments.

“Tammy has worked in education for more than 15 years and proven, at both our high school and in Warren County, that she has what it takes to succeed in this new role,” said Superintendent Dr. Patrick Mannarino. “She works hard and takes initiative and I am confident she will be a great addition to my administration and our school board.”

“I am excited to begin in my new role,” said Tammy. “This position is one I’ve seen myself in long-term for years, so I am thrilled to transition to this new role while staying in a district I’ve quickly grown to love.”

A lifelong Warren County resident, Tammy moved to the North Hills to be closer to her children, who moved to the Pittsburgh area after graduating from college. She currently resides in Shaler Township with her husband Jim.

Mrs. Swanson’s first day in her new role will be July 1, 2024.
