What happens when a student is identified as a close contact?

Posted Tuesday, March 1, 2022

Without a mask mandate in our schools, the district is no longer exempt from contact tracing.

While the CDC no longer recommends universal contact tracing, schools are considered prioritized settings and as stated on the CDC's website, should make broad-based efforts to notify people of potential COVID-19 exposure.

As such, and per our approved Health and Safety, effective Feb. 28, 2022, NHSD will contact students identified as close contacts via email with guidance shown in this flowchart and below. The email will also include a link to a form the student’s parent/guardian must complete and submit prior to the student’s return to school.
