Students encouraged to keep NHSD-issued iPad this summer

Posted Tuesday, May 18, 2021

All NHSD students in grades K-11 are encouraged to keep their district-issued iPad over the summer, and students who are registered or plan to register for one of our summer learning programs MUST keep the device as it will be required for summer course work.

To KEEP the iPad: Complete and submit this form no later than next Wednesday, May 26 at 12 p.m. noon. One form must be submitted for each student and you must be logged into the student’s NHSD Google account to view and submit the form. (Trouble logging in? Use the student’s iPad to complete the form.)

Over the summer, please do not leave the iPad turned off or in Do Not Disturb or Airplane mode for extended periods of time. Necessary updates will fail to install if the iPad is not turned on and connected to the internet.

The district’s Network Acceptable Use Policy (Board policy 834) and Student iPad Use and Loan Agreement remain in effect for the summer months.

It is the financial responsibility of the student and parent/guardian to repair or replace the device if it is lost, stolen or damaged. The device must be returned to NHSD for all repairs utilizing this Damage Report Form. Do not attempt to repair a damaged iPad at home and do not take it to a repair shop.

iPad insurance purchased during the 2020-21 school year remains in effect through the summer months. iPad insurance can still be purchased through One2One Risk Solutions.

District-issued iPads, accessories and apps are the property of NHSD and NHSD reserves the right to confiscate, monitor and track usage and data on any NHSD device.

To RETURN the iPad: Bring the device in its original case, charging block and cord to school on the last day, Thursday, May 27, for collection. You do not need to fill out the form above.

All seniors should bring their iPad in its original case, charging block and cord to graduation practice at Martorelli Stadium on Wednesday, May 26 for collection.

Please direct all questions to your building principal.
