Mask mandate lifted in Pennsylvania: What it means for NHSD this summer

Posted Monday, June 28, 2021

Pennsylvania has lifted its mask mandate and NHSD is no longer requiring that masks be worn. However, we continue to follow CDC guidance which includes encouraging anyone who is not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to wear a mask.

This latest update applies to adults and children at any of the district's summer learning programs, camps and conditioning, or other activities.

NHSD is working on its health and safety plan for the 2021-22 school year as required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. The plan will be up for approval by the NHSD Board of Education at its next meeting on Thursday, Aug. 5.

The plan will include decisions about mask wearing, social distancing and other COVID-19 precautions needed, as necessary, for NHSD to continue to follow local, state and federal health department guidelines. No decisions about these items will be made or announced prior to finalizing the health and safety plan.
