Manage your student’s district iPad with Jamf Parent

NHSD parents and guardians are now able to manage their student’s district-issued iPad when school is not in session through an app called Jamf Parent.

Jamf Parent is for iOS devices only and is not available from the Google Play store for Android devices at this time.

Through Jamf Parent, parents can restrict apps and app categories including social media, games and music, limit screen time and create schedules based on the student’s routine. For example, if homework time is from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. each weekday, other, unnecessary apps such as games or music, can be disabled during that time.

Please note: NHSD manages all district iPads during school hours so Jamf Parent cannot be used to set restrictions or rules that occur during school hours.

To begin, follow these instructions:

  1. Download the Jamf Parent app on your iOS device
  2. Connect your student’s iPad to the app by scanning the QR code found in the Self Service app
    • The QR code can be found by clicking on the Jamf Parent icon in the upper right corner of Self Service as shown below.
