Students impacted by Duquesne Light project can utilize schools on virtual days

Posted Monday, April 12, 2021

Students impacted by power outages as a result of Duquesne Light’s underground infrastructure project in the Brookmeade Drive area can utilize NHSD school buildings on virtual instruction days.

On all remaining virtual Wednesdays (April 14, 21, 28 and May 5, 12), North Hills High School, North Hills Middle School and Highcliff Elementary School will be open for students who do not have power or internet access.

NHSD will provide school bus service to and from school so impacted students can still join their classes remotely. The students will be supervised at all times in the school’s library or other common space. Cafeterias will be open and meals will be served.

All potentially impacted families will receive an email this week with the link to a Google form. This form must be filled out when a student is going to go into school on a virtual Wednesday.
