PITTSBURGH -- When NHSD moves to Hybrid on Oct. 5, school nurses will follow current state recommendations regarding COVID-19 as to when students will be sent home.
Students will be sent home if they meet the following criteria.
Have ONE of the following symptoms:
- Fever
- Vomiting
- New onset cough
- Shortness of breath
- Difficulty breathing
- New olfactory disorder
- New taste disorder
OR
Have TWO of the following symptoms:
- Chills
- Rigors
- Myalgia
- Headache
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Nausea
- Diarrhea
- Fatigue
- Congestion or runny nose
Students sent home will have a letter from the school nurse with instructions outlining what to do next.
If your student is experiencing any of the above symptoms, DO NOT send them to school and contact the student’s primary care physician for further instructions.
