Move to Hybrid: Will students need to quarantine after travel?

PITTSBURGH -- North Hills School District students will be required to quarantine after travel if they visit a location that is on the Pennsylvania Department of Health or Centers for Disease Control’s lists of locations quarantine is recommended post-visit. 

COVID-19 testing is not encouraged but will be accepted. If a family chooses to submit test results, paper documentation must be sent to the student’s principal and Superintendent Dr. Patrick Mannarino.

An Educational Trip Request Form may not be necessary if the student will participate remotely on school days. (This applies only when NHSD is operating in a Hybrid or Virtual operating model.)

Should a student need to quarantine, the following would occur based on the district’s operating model.

Virtual
  • Student participates virtually as scheduled
  • Student completes attendance form each day of participation during quarantine
Hybrid
  • Student participates remotely with synchronous lessons and asynchronous work assigned in Google Classroom
  • Student does not attend in person days until quarantine time has ended
  • Student completes attendance form each day of participation during quarantine
Blended
  • Student participates asynchronously with work assigned in Google Classroom
  • Student does not attend in person days until quarantine time has ended
  • Student completes attendance form each day of participation during quarantine
Traditional
  • Student participates asynchronously with work assigned in Google Classroom
  • Student does not attend in person days until quarantine time has ended
  • Student completes attendance form each day of participation during quarantine
