North Hills High School student positive for COVID-19

Posted Wednesday, October 28, 2020

PITTSBURGH -- A North Hills High School student has tested positive for COVID-19. The student has not been in school or involved in any district activities since last Tuesday, Oct. 20. View our district COVID-19 tracker.

The student developed symptoms this past weekend, was tested and received the positive result today, Wednesday, Oct. 28.

Due to the timeline of when the student was last in school and when symptoms began, no further action by the district is necessary.

As with all positive cases, the Allegheny County Health Department will handle contract tracing.

As we head into the cold and flu season and as COVID-19 cases climb across the state, please pay attention to your health, know the symptoms of coronavirus and if you are sick, please stay home. We commend this student for doing just that.

We know this is a difficult time for everyone. The health and safety of our students and staff is paramount and we thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation.
