North Hills Middle School volleyball player positive for COVID-19

PITTSBURGH -- A member of the North Hills Middle School girls volleyball team has tested positive for COVID-19.

The student was tested over the weekend and received her positive result on Tuesday morning, Sept. 15.

The student last attended volleyball practice at the middle school on Friday afternoon, Sept. 11.

There are two girls volleyball teams at the middle school made up of seventh- and eighth-graders. Both teams practiced on Friday.

The middle school girls volleyball program is shut down until further notice with the hope of resuming activities on Monday, Sept. 28. This closure does not impact the high school’s JV or varsity girls volleyball teams.

All contract tracing will be handled by the Allegheny County Health Department.

Anyone who experiences any of the signs and symptoms of COVID-19 is urged to contact their primary care physician immediately.
