PITTSBURGH -- Allison "Ali" Mathis was named North Hills School District Board of Education President during the board’s reorganization meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019.

Mrs. Mathis has been a member of the North Hills school board since 2017. A former PTO president, she is an active parent volunteer who has served as chair of the district’s education committee for the last two years.

Mrs. Mathis moved to the North Hills 13 years ago. Her daughter, 11-year-old Sydney, attends fifth grade at Ross Elementary and her son, 13-year-old Colter, is in eighth grade at North Hills Middle School.

“I have always tried to keep the best interest of the students and the community in the forefront of my mind in my time on the school board and I will continue doing so as board president,” she said after accepting the nomination from fellow board member Sandra Kozera. "We live in an amazing school district and a wonderful community and I am proud and prepared to help lead. Thank you."

Congratulations, Ali!
