NHSD closed effective immediately amid coronavirus concerns

Posted Friday, March 13, 2020

PITTSBURGH -- The North Hills School District is closed effective immediately. We will return to school no earlier than March 30, 2020.

All district buildings and facilities are closed during this time, transportation is suspended, and all athletics, activities and events are cancelled. There will be no practices, games, rehearsals, etc. No outside organizations will be permitted to use our facilities for practices or previously scheduled games and events. We will look to reschedule as many events as possible in the coming weeks and communicate new dates as soon as they’re available.

The district will continue to follow the guidance from county, state and federal health officials during the closure, and reevaluate as necessary.

We will continue to provide updates via email, our website, district app and social media, as they become available. We also have a web page dedicated to coronavirus. It includes updated information pertaining to the outbreak, precautions and resources.

We recognize the closure will cause disruption to our students, staff and families. This is a challenging time, and we thank you for your cooperation and continued support as we make responsible decisions to keep our community safe and limit the spread of COVID-19.
