Last season, the varsity wrestling team at North Hills won its first-ever section championship. Fast forward one year, and the Indians now have two titles under their belts.

With Wednesday night's home victory over Central Catholic, North Hills claimed back-to-back championships in Class 3A Section 6. For the second year in a row, the Indians were a perfect 3-0 in section matches, and their second straight section title has them back in the playoffs.

The WPIAL released its team wrestling brackets on Thursday, and North Hills has automatically qualified for the first round of competition without having to wrestle in the pigtail round. The Indians' first-round opponent will be Kiski Area, and they will compete on Wednesday, January 28, at Connellsville High School. The match is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., with the winner wrestling later that same night in the quarterfinals.

Tickets for Wednesday's matches will be available at the door for $7 and online via GoFan for $5 (students) or $7 (adults).

Congratulations to the varsity wrestling team on its back-to-back section championships, and good luck in the playoffs!
