The winter break is behind us, and 2026 has arrived. Here is a look at what our teams were up to during the holidays:

Girls' Basketball

The girls' basketball team played two games in the last couple of weeks and was defeated in both contests. Entering 2026, the girls own a 3-6 overall record and a 1-1 mark in section play.

Boys' Basketball

The boys' basketball team played three games in the last two weeks, including two at the Hampton Holiday Tournament, and won all three. As a result, the boys enter the new year on a five-game winning streak and have an 8-3 overall record (2-2 in the section).

Wrestling

Both the varsity and junior high wrestling teams have not competed since mid-December. Both teams will return to action when they travel to Penn Hills on Wednesday.

Swimming & Diving

In the pool, the swimming and diving teams competed once over the holiday break when they traveled to Moon last Friday. The boys lost 65-87 to fall to 2-4 this season, while the girls lost 90-94 to drop to 2-4 as well.

Gymnastics

The varsity gymnastics team has competed twice already in 2026. The girls came away with a win over Montour, while losing to North Allegheny.
Indoor Track

The indoor track team has not yet begun competition. The first meet of the winter season will take place this Saturday, January 10, at Youngstown State.

Unified Bocce

The unified bocce team did not compete over the break. The team will return to action on January 8 and play its first home match on January 13.

This week's home and away events can be found on the North Hills Athletics website.
