West View Elementary to celebrate grand reopening on August 6
The North Hills School District invites the community to join in the celebration of a major milestone — the grand reopening of the newly renovated West View Elementary School, coinciding with the building’s 100th anniversary.
The original West View Elementary School building opened as West View Junior High School in September 1925.
Originally opened as West View Junior High School in September 1925, the building has served generations of students in various capacities. Now, a century later, it stands completely revitalized and ready to welcome a new generation of learners.
A grand reopening celebration will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at the school, located at 47 Chalfonte Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15229.
The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by building tours from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The ribbon cutting will take place at the main entrance along Chalfonte. While the event is open to the public, please note this is not an open house and some areas, including classrooms, may not be accessible.
Prior to the ribbon cutting, a private dinner will be held to honor those involved in the renovation efforts. Invitations are forthcoming.
We hope you’ll join us for this special evening as we celebrate the rich history and exciting future of West View Elementary School.
The massive renovation project began three years ago, in August of 2022.
