Two North Hills student-athletes have advanced to the next round of postseason competition, and several more earned medals, after a jam-packed weekend of playoff action.

Senior wrestler Carter Morvay led the way over the weekend with a third-place finish in the WPIAL Individual Wrestling Championships. He will move on to the PIAA Class 3A West Regional, as will sophomore Cam Healey, who finished seventh in his weight class.

The PIAA West Regional will take place at Canon-McMillan High School on February 27-28, with the top five wrestlers from each weight class advancing to the PIAA Individual Championships.

But that's not where the success ended for North Hills student-athletes. Junior Brady Rohaly took home an eighth-place medal at the WPIAL Wrestling Championships, while junior Cassie Fritz earned an eighth-place medal of her own at the WPIAL Diving Championships.

In addition, the indoor track team won nine medals over two competitions: the boys' 4X800 relay (second place), Logan Berry (fourth, triple jump), Cody Miller (sixth, 400M), Georgia Krogmann (sixth, high jump), Kayla Flanigan (seventh, 1600M), Brody Diehl (seventh, triple jump), Domenic Monroe (seventh, shot put), Emerson Schall (seventh, shot put), and Jocelyn Sauers (eighth, pole vault).

At the team level, the North Hills unified bocce team won its Allegheny North Division semifinal before falling in the championship match. The team went home with silver medals for its second-place finish.

Congratulations to all of our student-athletes on a great weekend in the postseason, and good luck to those who have advanced!
