North Hills School District is excited to introduce Stopfinder, a new transportation app for the 2026-27 school year. Stopfinder allows families to:

  • View morning and afternoon bus numbers, stop locations, and pickup and drop-off times
  • Track their student’s bus in real time
  • Create GeoAlerts for locations along the bus route
  • Share transportation schedules with trusted users, such as grandparents, babysitters, or older siblings

Student transportation information, including morning and afternoon bus numbers, stop locations, and pickup and drop-off times, will remain available under Transportation Info in the web-browser version of PowerSchool. For the 2026-27 school year, this information will be available later this week.

Activating Stopfinder

On Thursday, August 13, Stopfinder will send an activation email to each student’s primary contact, listed as Contact 1 in PowerSchool. Be sure to check your spam or junk folder. ONLY the student’s primary contact will receive the activation email. After activating the account, the primary contact can share the student’s transportation schedule with additional users.

To get started:

  • Open the activation email from Stopfinder. (Shown below)
  • Select the activation link and create a password.
  • Download the free Stopfinder app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
  • Sign in to view your student’s transportation information.

Please note: The activation email will expire after seven days. If it expires, email Transportation Coordinator Tim Jones at jonest@nhsd.net to request a new activation email.

Additional Information

  • A student’s bus schedule reflects a typical school day and will not be adjusted in Stopfinder for schedule changes such as a two-hour delay.
  • Transportation alerts, including notifications that a bus is running late, will continue to be sent through the district’s automated call and text messaging system. Stopfinder will not send a separate delay notification, but families may see the bus traveling its route later than usual.
  • If a student is temporarily assigned to a different bus, the bus number should be updated in Stopfinder so GPS tracking can continue to function.

Stopfinder is a new system for our district and ABC Transit, and we appreciate your patience as families and staff become familiar with it. As a reminder, all students should arrive at their bus stop 10 minutes before their scheduled pickup time.
