May is upon us, and the spring sports regular season is winding down. Here's a look at which teams are playoff-bound and which teams are concluding their seasons:

Softball

Coming off a week that saw the varsity softball team clinch a playoff spot and finish its section schedule, the girls played one game last week, and it was a shutout win over Burrell. The girls are now 8-6 on the season.

Baseball

The varsity baseball team wrapped up its 2026 campaign with a 1-2 record last week and finished on a high note, defeating North Allegheny 6-1 in the regular season finale. The varsity team is now done for the year, and the JV, freshman, and middle school teams will conclude in the next two weeks.

Girls' Lacrosse

The girls' lacrosse team became the second team at North Hills to clinch a postseason berth this spring after defeating North Allegheny last week. The girls came back and beat Butler later in the week to improve to 9-5 this spring.

Boys' Lacrosse

Boys' varsity lacrosse went 0-2 last week, falling in their games against Seneca Valley and North Allegheny. The boys will look to snap a three-game losing streak as they conclude their season this week.

Flag Football

The flag football team ended its first varsity season last week with an 18-14 win over New Castle. The win gives the girls a record of 8-5 this year, and despite missing the playoffs, the girls had a tremendous season!

Boys' Volleyball

The third team to clinch a playoff berth was the boys' volleyball team, which punched its ticket by defeating Fox Chapel last week on the road. With the win, their fourth in a row, the boys now own a 10-5 record this season.

Track

Varsity track and field athletes competed in the RMU Invitational and the Pine-Richland Invitational last Friday and Saturday. Between the two meets, North Hills had over 30 student-athletes finish in the top five in their respective events.

This week's home and away events can be found on the North Hills Athletics website.
